Facilities
Expanded across three units, RAM’s dedicated technical training centre includes real-world simulation apparatuses and a classroom for all course theory.
Here, we equip every trainee with the skills and confidence they’ll need to tackle the industry’s toughest challenges.
Training Area
RAM’s Training Centre has been recently rebuilt with state-of-the-art steelwork.
It features three separate steel structures, two platforms, and a cellphone tower with realistic antennas for practical on-rope exercises. It is a tall, dynamic 3D environment with vertical and horizontal structural I-beams filled with well-planned anchored rope systems, deviations, re-anchors, aid climbing, and hauling options.
RAM’s Training Centre is constantly evolving based on the feedback of our instructors, assessors, evaluators and, most importantly, trainees.
Cutting-Edge Equipment
Our Training Centre features top-of-the-line equipment.
We provide everything registered trainees need and follow proper equipment inspection, cleaning, storage, and traceability procedures.
A variety of equipment from different manufacturers is available, including harnesses, helmets, ascenders, descenders, backup devices, foot loops, positioning lanyards, pulleys, rope clamps, beam clamps, fabric and steel slings, carabiners, comfort seats, rope protection devices and rigging plates.
Classroom
We have a dedicated classroom for all theoretical components of our courses.
The classroom has a large flat-screen TV for all multimedia requirements and rigged ropes for practical demonstrations of scenarios and equipment usage. With a capacity for 16 trainees, this is the place where angles, loads, forces, vectors, legislation, compliance, and general rope access theory are safely discussed separately from the training area.
This is also where first aid, equipment inspection and safety supervisor courses take place.
Kitchen and Welfare Facilities
In addition to a dedicated washroom, we provide a kitchen and lounge area to store, heat, and eat meals and drinks for all trainees to enjoy, should they want to bring meals from home.
We always supply water and coffee to keep everyone hydrated and energized to meet the challenging demands of rope access training.
Open House Events
We believe in supporting our community with free events for learning new rope skills, practicing rescues, networking and staying up-to-date with the industry.
Every quarter we host a free open house event for our incredible community. These events allow those interested in rope access to come try out for themselves, give a space for certified technicians to practice, connect workers seeking for opportunities and companies and, most importantly, build up a community of individuals in the greater Toronto area.
